Meet Eileen Nevers, LPC, LCMFT
Eileen has been helping adolescents and young adults and their families for 30 years. She also works with couples and adults who are suffering from ADHD, depression, anxiety, addiction, and physical/ sexual abuse.
Eileen understands that some clients are ready to work on their issues and some clients just need someone to listen and support. Practical homework assignments and follow-up allows her clients to acquire coping skills. Her approach combines warmth, understanding, and a gentle humor. Eileen earned a B.S.Ed in Secondary Education Summa Cum Laude at the University of Wisconsin and the M.S. Ed in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kansas. She taught in post-secondary proprietary schools, working with young adults in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Wichita, Kansas; and Overland Park, Kansas for six years. She completed two years of post-Masters study at the renowned Family Institute of Kansas City.
Eileen held clinical licenses in both Missouri and Kansas as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Addictions Counselor. She was director of STOP: Teen Outpatient Program for eight years and was on the Drug Advisory Board for Johnson County, Kansas for 21 years and chairman for six years. She is on the board of StandUp Parenting in the Kansas City area.
Eileen has been married for over 50 years and has two adult children and two beautiful granddaughters.
