Meet Kathleen Best, LCSW
Kathleen Best is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to joining us, she worked at the Pennsylvania State University Psychology clinic where she served as a staff clinician. At the PSU clinic, she utilized evidenced-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Parent Management Training while meeting with adolescents, children, and their families who presented with anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, and disruptive behavior. Kathleen also worked extensively in the Oregon school systems and with the University of Oregon to implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. In this role, she organized system-wide, evidence-based behavioral interventions that aimed to prevent disruptive behavior by improving students’ self-regulation skills. She holds a Masters of Arts with a School Social Work Concentration from Loyola University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking on new trails and trying out new recipes.
